| Bob Turner at 44a Crescent Road | |
Woodcarving, woodturning and stained glass Bob started carving in 1985 under the tutorage of George Swaysland, a well respected traditional carver resident in Sussex. He is a member of Sussex Woodcraft Society where his interest in woodturning first began seeing other members’ work and what could be achieved. He has exhibited his carvings and woodturnings in the Sussex Woodcraft Society Exhibitions and since 2004 has exhibited in the Open House Studios. After attending a course on the art of stained glass he is combining this now with his woodworking. An example of this, in the form of a phoenix rising from the flames as a firescreen, can be seen on the website. Bob had two years exhibiting
work with the Brighton Fringe, which was most enjoyable but he is now
concentrating all his efforts on the Burgess Hill Open Studios. |
